Spoon tour ‘Transference’ this May February 3rd 2010 By Michaella

Spoon tour ‘Transference’ this May

Last here in 2008 for a tour that included appearances at all six Big Days Out, as surprise guest to the Arcade Fire and for their own headline shows, Spoon are returning to Australia this Autumn having signed up to perform nationally for the Groovin In The Moo Festival and a selection of major city headline shows.

The 2010 tour coincides with the release of  ‘Transference’ which just debuted at #4 on the US Billboard charts. The album is somewhat more restrained and straightforward than their last few, stripping away unnecessary production elements and embellished solos and laying down only the best of themselves for a more contained and personal record.

“On Transference, it’s quality not quantity of melody that sticks: each song is spinal, gutsy, emotional and different. Here Spoon drops the polish to give us rough, ready and human rock” – DRUM MEDIA (Album of the Week)

“Swinging from brooding, enigmatic epics to power pop gems in the blink of an eye, Transference is a compelling listen” – TRIPLE J (Album Of The Week)

Tickets for Groovin In The Moo and all headline shows are on-sale February 16.
